The Crane and The Wicked Wolf

Once upon a time, there was a wolf living happily in a forest. One day, the wolf found a piece of goat skin and began eating it. It ate too quickly and greedily, causing a bone to get stuck sideways in its throat. The bone was stuck in a way that made it impossible for the wolf to swallow or spit it out, so it couldn't eat anything. This was a really bad situation for the greedy wolf.

In a hurry, the wolf went to a crane for help. The wolf thought that the crane, with its long neck and beak, could easily reach into its throat and remove the bone. The wolf promised a generous reward to the crane if it could take out the bone.

The crane was nervous about putting its head inside the wolf's throat, as you can understand. But the crane was also hoping to get something in return, so it agreed to help. When the crane managed to remove the bone, the wolf quickly left.

However, the crane reminded the wolf about the promised reward, asking anxiously, "What about my reward?" The wolf turned angrily and said, "What reward? Didn't you get it? Isn't it enough that I allowed you to take your head out of my mouth without harming you?"

Moral of the story: Don't expect to be rewarded for helping someone who doesn't value honor or fairness.
