A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED
A Real Friend Helps When You're in Trouble
Once upon a time, there were two close friends who lived near a forest town. They were very fast friends. They promised each other that if they ever faced difficult situations, they would support one another and not abandon anyone alone. One day, they were traveling to the city to get some things for their homes.
While they were passing through the forest, they spotted a bear coming toward them. One friend knew how to climb trees, so he quickly climbed up a tree and left behind the other friend. Now, the second friend was all alone, and there was no one around to protect him from the bear.
He had heard that bears don't eat dead bodies. So, he lay down on the ground and pretended to be dead. When the bear came close, sniffed him, and checked his ear, it eventually left him alone, thinking he was dead, and wandered back into the forest.
After the bear was gone, the friend who had climbed the tree asked his companion what the bear had whispered in his ear. He replied to his friend that the bear had warned him not to trust a fake and selfish friend.
Moral:
A friend who helps you when you're in trouble is a true friend indeed.
