Earthquake Disaster Paragraph
An earthquake is when the ground suddenly moves and causes a big disaster. It happens because of cracks deep inside the Earth or when a volcano erupts. Some places are more likely to have earthquakes, while others are safer. Countries like Japan and Iran often get hit by earthquakes. They build their buildings and bridges to be strong and not break during an earthquake. We can't predict exactly when an earthquake will happen. A really strong earthquake can destroy houses and buildings. People can get trapped under the broken buildings. Sometimes, several earthquakes happen one after the other. When this happens, people have to live in tents outside. If a big earthquake hits a crowded city, lots of people can get hurt or die. It can take days to rescue people trapped in buildings that fell down. The only way to reduce the damage from earthquakes is to build houses, bridges, and roads that can handle the shaking.
