Composition My Favourite Poet/Quazi Nazrul Islam
Everyone has a poet they like. My favorite poet is Quazi Nazrul Islam. He's not just my favorite, but everyone's favorite. His writings will always stay in our minds. People call him the rebel poet.
My favorite poet, Quazi Nazrul Islam, was born on May 25, 1899, in a village called Churulia in West Bengal. His father was Quazi Faqir Ahmed, and his mother was Zaheda Khatun. He was a naughty boy from a young age.
Nazrul Islam lost his father early in life and had a hard time dealing with poverty. When he was ten, he started going to the local primary school. At twelve, he ran away to Asansol and became a baker's boy. A Muslim sub-inspector noticed him and sent him to a village in Mymensingh district. Later, he returned to Asansol and joined a local High School. He studied there until the First World War started. He then joined the war and became a Havildar.
Even in his childhood, he showed great talent. He wrote Bengali verses during his early years. From the military camps, he sent many poems and stories to be published in Calcutta's Bengali magazines. He wrote patriotic songs, poems, plays, stories, novels, and more. His poem "Bidrohi" brought a revolutionary change in the country and inspired the nation.
Nazrul was a rebel, and his message was about rebellion. He urged people to rebel against tyranny and oppression. He spoke out against social injustices and inequalities. He used his pen to fight for the freedom of the country. That's why he's my favorite poet.
It's sad to know that the rebel poet suffered from a long illness and mental imbalance. He passed away on August 29, 1976.
