My Beloved Country Bangladesh
Bangladesh is a country in South Asia, mostly surrounded by the Indian sub-continent. The capital city is Dhaka. It was ruled by the British and then by Pakistan for a long time. But it gained its freedom on December 16, 1971, after a difficult nine-month struggle against the harsh Pakistani army.
Here, people speak Bangla as their main language, which they made their official language in 1952 after a sacrifice of lives. English is also spoken and used for official things. There are different languages and ways of speaking in different parts of the country. Most people here follow the Muslim religion, but there are also Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists who live peacefully.
The weather in Bangladesh is good for health because it's not too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. There are six seasons here. The average rainfall is 203 centimeters. Bangladesh has a lot of rivers, like Padma, Meghna, Jamuna, Brahmaputra, and Surma.
The main things grown in Bangladesh are rice, jute, tea, tobacco, and sugarcane. About 80% of the people live in villages. They mostly do farming to earn their living. They have certain ways of doing things that they've been doing for a long time.
People of different religions have their own important festivals. Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha. They go to the mosque to pray and greet each other. Hindus celebrate Durgapuja, Christians have Christmas Day, and Buddhists celebrate Buddha Purnima.
People of all kinds live peacefully in Bangladesh. The country is beautiful, and many tourists come to see the natural beauty. The most famous places are Cox's Bazar, which has the world's biggest sea beach, St. Martin Island, Kuakata sea beach, Bagerhat Shat Gambuj Mosque, Sundarbans, which is the world's biggest mangrove forest, and the ruins of a Buddhist place called Paharpur.
