Tit For Tat Story

Once upon a time, there was a poet from England who was staying in Italy to help his health. While he was there, he got a letter from a friend in England that wasn't paid for yet. He had to pay extra to get the letter, but when he opened it, all it said was "I am well." This made the poet really upset because he had to pay extra money just for that little message. He decided to have some fun and teach his friend a lesson. He found a heavy stone, put it in a nice box, and wrote some words on a piece of paper to wrap around the stone.

Then, he sent the box to his friend with a message on it that said, "You have to pay for delivery." When the friend got the box, he thought it must contain something valuable, so he happily paid a lot of money to get it. He also had to pay extra for the delivery. But when he opened the box, all he found was a regular stone. He felt embarrassed when he read the words on the paper wrapped around the stone, which said, "Knowing that you are well, this heavy stone has rolled out of my heart." The friend realized that this was the poet's way of getting back at him, like the saying "You scratch my back, I scratch yours."
