Your Favourite Poet Composition
My favorite poet is Percy Bysshe Shelley. He was a famous romantic poet in English literature. He was a revolutionary and a dreamer. He believed in good things for the future. Some people thought he was too negative, but others saw him as hopeful.
Shelley was born on August 4, 1792, in Sussex, England. He was the oldest son of Timothy Shelley, a rich man. He was homeschooled and later went to Eton College. At Eton, he was known as the "Mad Shelley." In 1808, he went to Oxford University but got kicked out in 1811 because he wrote about atheism.
He fell in love with a woman named Harriet Westbrook and married her, but their marriage was not happy. He fell in love with another woman named Mary, and they ran away together. Harriet was very upset and tragically ended her life.
Shelley moved to Italy and made friends with other writers. He wrote many poems, including "The Masque of Anarchy" and "Prometheus Unbound." He was a talented lyricist and had a deep love for nature and people.
Sadly, Shelley died in a boating accident in 1822 along with his friend William. His body was cremated, and his ashes were buried in Rome.
Many people praised Shelley for his kindness and talent. He was a great poet who expressed his rebellion and love for life in his beautiful poems.
