A Rainy Day I Remember

One time, on a rainy day in a month called Ashar, it had been lightly raining since morning. I was eating my food when the sky turned dark with thick clouds. I quickly finished my meal and got ready for school. Big drops of rain started falling at that time. My mom told me to wait, but I couldn't because my important test had started just two days ago, and that day's test was about English Paper 1. I grabbed my umbrella and headed out. I had only walked a few steps when it started pouring heavily. It rained really, really hard. So, I found shelter in a house by the road. I got completely wet. I took off my shoes and shirt and waited, hoping the rain would stop soon. But it didn't show any sign of stopping. So, I decided to start walking again. I was worried that if I arrived late, they might not let me take the test. I walked as fast as I could. When I got to school, I took off my wet clothes. The principal came out of his room, saw that most of the students were missing, and noticed how miserable I looked. I was wet all over and shaking with cold. He told me to go back home and said there wouldn't be a test that day. So, I walked back home in the rain, feeling thankful to my teachers and the rain.
