Annual Sports of My School Paragraph
My School's Yearly Sports Day
My school's yearly sports event happened on March 10th with happiness and fun. On March 9th, the student leaders and volunteers chosen from among us worked together to set up and decorate the sports area nicely. They did this with the help of the Gym Teacher and some other teachers. They made sure there were enough seats for both boys and girls who came to watch. They even hired a band to make the sports event interesting. The D.C. (District Commissioner) was the special guest.
The sports event began at 10:30 in the morning with a student from 10th grade carrying the Olympic torch for a run. Then the National flag was raised and pigeons were let out as a symbol of peace. After that, all the students marched in a row, and the D.C. saluted them. Then he officially started the sports event, and the participants promised to play fairly. Then the actual sports competitions began.
The main events were races like the 100-meter sprint, 400-meter sprint, and 800-meter race. There were also games like javelin throw, shot put, discus throw, long jump, high jump, hop-step and jump, pole vault, and hurdle race. Besides these, there were fun games like a cycle race, weight lifting, pillow fight, dressing up as you like, and a tug-of-war. Around 200 students took part in all these activities. I joined three events and won first place in each. Once all the events were done, the D.C. gave out trophies to the winners. There were three trophies for each event. The winners also received certificates to show their skills. The fourth-place winners got a certificate too.
