I like football. It brings me joy. It's not costly. Football excites players and spectators. It's not from our country, but it's famous worldwide. I think people enjoy football more than any other game.
Football is played on a large open field. The field is 110 to 120 yards long and 70 to 80 yards wide. There are two goal posts at opposite ends. A bar is tied eight feet above the ground between the goal posts. There are also the center and penalty box.
The game involves two teams, each with eleven players. Each side has a goalkeeper, two backs, three half-backs, and five forwards. The goalkeeper and two backs defend, while the others attack. The game starts when the referee blows the whistle. The teams try to score goals and defend their own side. The game has two halves with a ten-minute break in between. Teams switch sides after the first half. The team with more goals wins.
There are strict rules for the game. Players follow these rules and respect the referee's decisions.
Football has many merits. It makes a person strong, healthy, and disciplined. It teaches virtues like obedience, cooperation, and punctuality.
However, football has some drawbacks too. It can lead to quarrels, and some students neglect their studies for it.
Despite its flaws, football is my favorite game. It helps people develop good qualities and can also be a source of income.
