Paragraph on Marma People

The Marma, Magh, or Mugh people are a big group who moved from Arakan and settled in Bangladesh. Most Maghs live in three districts close to where they originally came from. These districts are Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, and Khagrachari. A smaller group of Maghs also live in Patuakhali. The Maghs can be divided into two sub-groups based on where they live. The Maghs who live in the hilly areas are called "Marmas," and those who live in flat lands are called "Rakhains." The Maghs are short and strong with flat noses. They work very hard and are independent. To protect themselves from dangerous animals, insects, and floods, they build their houses on platforms that are six to eight feet high. Their main food consists of boiled rice and vegetables.
