Reward for Honesty Completing Story
A Reward for Being Truthful
Once upon a time, in a little village, there lived a man who cut wood for a living. One day, he was chopping wood by the side of a river when, oops! His axe slipped out of his hand and fell into the deep river. Now, this man didn't know how to swim or dive, so he just sat there feeling really sad.
But then, something amazing happened! Out of nowhere, a really pretty fairy appeared right in front of him. The fairy asked him, "Hey, what happened to make you so glum?" So, the man told her about the axe mishap. He explained that he was a poor woodcutter and his job depended on that axe. Without it, he couldn't work and earn a living. He also said he couldn't afford to buy a new one.
The fairy felt really sorry for him after hearing all this. She dove into the river and brought up a golden axe. She asked the man if it was his. He shook his head, "No." So, the fairy dove again and came back with a silver axe. Again, she asked if it was his, and again, he said, "No."
Finally, the fairy dove into the water one more time and came up with the very axe that the man had lost. She held it up and asked him, "Is this yours?" The man's face lit up, and he happily exclaimed, "Yes, that's mine!"
The fairy was so surprised by his honesty. She rewarded him for being truthful and good-hearted. She gave him not just one, but three axes: a golden one, a silver one, and an iron one. That woodcutter's honesty brought him a wonderful reward he never could have imagined. And so, they lived happily ever after.
