The Fox and the Crow Completing Story

The Smart Fox and the Talkative Crow

Once upon a time, there was a crow perched on a tree branch, holding a yummy piece of meat in its beak. Under the same tree, a fox with a rumbling tummy looked up at the crow. The fox's eyes gleamed at the sight of that delicious meat. It wanted to taste it so badly that it hatched a clever plan.

The fox thought hard, coming up with various ideas, until it found one that seemed just right. It decided to use flattery – saying nice things to get what it wanted. So, the fox walked up to the base of the tree and looked at the crow with a smile. "Hello there, lovely crow! You're looking amazing today: your feathers are so shiny, and your eyes are like stars! I'm sure your voice must be even sweeter than other birds', just like you're more beautiful. Could you sing a little song for me? I'd love to hear the queen of bird voices."

Every word the fox spoke sounded like the sweetest music to the crow's ears. The crow lifted its head and began to caw its best caw. But as soon as it opened its beak, the piece of meat slipped from its grip and fell to the ground. Quick as a flash, the fox grabbed the meat and savored its victory.

"Perfect! That's exactly what I wanted. In exchange for your tasty treat, I have a piece of advice for you." "Hmm, that's not possible," replied the crow. "But I insist on sharing this advice for your future: Beware of those who give you too many compliments."
