Slow and Steady Wins the Race/ A Race between the Hare And the Tortoise Completing Story
There was once a very fast animal called a hare. It could run really quickly. On the other hand, a tortoise was a very slow mover. One day, the hare, who was very proud of its speed, made fun of the tortoise. The tortoise didn't like this and challenged the hare to a race.
They both decided to have a fox as the judge for their race. The fox agreed and they all met at a crossroads on the chosen day. The race began, and right from the start, the hare zoomed ahead, leaving the tortoise far behind. After covering almost half of the distance, the hare looked back and couldn't see the tortoise anywhere.
Feeling confident, the hare thought to itself, "I'm being silly. Why am I racing so fast in the hot sun against that slow tortoise? I'll take a break and start running again when the tortoise catches up." So, the hare found a shady tree, lay down, and fell asleep because it was a little tired.
Meanwhile, the tortoise continued to move forward at its steady pace. It didn't stop or look back, just kept going. Eventually, it passed the sleeping hare and reached the finish line well ahead of it. When the hare woke up, it couldn't tell how long it had slept. It looked around and saw no sign of the tortoise. The hare still felt proud of itself and resumed running.
But when the hare reached the finish line, it saw the tortoise chatting with the fox, who was the race judge. The tortoise then said, "You see, my friend, slow and steady wins the race."
