Dress Does Not Make A Man Great Story
Sheikh Saadi was a famous poet from Iran. He led a simple life. While he was on his way to the cold Iranian court, he stayed overnight at a nobleman's house. At that time, he was wearing very plain clothes. The people in that house didn't like the poet and treated him disrespectfully. The poet felt very sad and left the rich house feeling hopeless.
A few days later, he went back to the same house, but this time he was wearing fancy clothes. The people in the noble house treated him with respect and honor. They offered him lots of food, but the poet didn't eat any of it. Instead, he started putting the food in his pockets.
The nobleman was surprised to see this and asked the poet why he was behaving so strangely. The poet replied, "This food is not for me, it's for my clothes. They would have treated me the same way even when I was poorly dressed."
Sheikh Saadi and his dress Story
Sheikh Saadi was a famous poet known for his beautiful words. He liked to wear simple clothes. One day, he went to a rich person's house seeking shelter. The nobleman and his servants didn't recognize Saadi and treated him like an ordinary person because he was dressed plainly. They didn't show him much respect or hospitality. Saadi felt disappointed and left the house.
On his way back, Saadi decided to visit the same house again, but this time he wore fancy clothes. When he arrived, the nobles warmly welcomed him and served him delicious and luxurious food. Saadi, however, started putting food in the pockets of his fancy dress. This surprised the nobleman and his servants, so they asked him why he was doing that.
Saadi replied that the food he was taking was payment for his expensive dress. He wanted to show them that they treated him differently based on his appearance. The nobleman realized his mistake and felt guilty. He asked Saadi for forgiveness for not recognizing him earlier as the great poet that he was.
