👉 What is an Application/Formal Letter?
An Application/Formal Letter is a written request or proposal usually addressed to someone in authority. It's a way to clearly communicate your needs, concerns, or intentions in a formal manner.
👉 Application/Formal Letter Writing Guidelines:
1. Date: Write the date of the letter at the upper left corner. Use the given date if mentioned in the question. Otherwise, you can use the date of the test. You can write the date in different formats, like January 25, 2020. Leave some space after writing the date.
2. Recipient's Designation & Address: Write the recipient's title (e.g., The Headmaster) and the name and address of their organization (e.g., Jashore Zilla School, Jashore). Capitalize the first letter of the surname and organization's name.
3. Subject: Mention the subject of the letter (e.g., Application for a full-free studentship). You can underline it for emphasis.
4. Salutation: Greet the recipient respectfully (e.g., Sir). The salutation can vary based on the person's role. Here are some examples:
