Email Writing Rules for JSC, SSC and HSC
Email Writing Guidelines
We will discuss 8 simple rules for writing emails. By following these rules, you'll be able to create a beautiful email. Let's get started…
1. Your Address (From Address)
Start an email by mentioning your address or From Address. This is where you write your own email address. Remember to use small letters for your email address.
You can use numbers in your email address if you want, like meena25@gmail.com. But there should be no spaces or gaps in the address.
2. Recipient's Address (To Address)
Write the recipient's email address here. Follow the same rules for writing the email address.
3. Sending Time (Sent)
Write when the email is being sent. Usually, students mention the sending time in the email. Include the day, date, and year. For example: Sent: Monday, 07 November, 2016
4. Email Subject
The subject line is important. Summarize the topic of your email in one line. For example, if you're inviting a friend for a birthday party, your subject could be: Inviting for birthday party.
5. Greeting
Start your email with a proper greeting. It's like saying hello to the person you're writing to. For example: I hope you're well. I'm also well.
6. Main Message (Body)
This is the main part of your email. Write your actual message here. Keep it short, around 4-5 lines.
7. Closing Remark
End your email with a closing remark. You can briefly mention your main point again and add a closing comment. For example: No more today. Wish your good health and prosperity. Write me soon.
8. Your Name
Finally, mention your name at the end. Sometimes you might be given a specific name to use. If so, write that name.
By following these 8 rules, you'll be able to create a nice email. Below is a sample format of a personal email for you to follow. Try writing your own email using this format.

Subject: Join us for a Picnic!
Dear Raju,
I just read your email and I'm glad to know that everyone is doing well. I'm fine too. Exciting news! All of us from Class XIII are planning a picnic on Friday, 15 February. We're heading to Shat Gambuj Mosque in Bagerhat, and we'll be taking a bus. This mosque is a stunning historical site, built by Saint Khan Jahan Ali. It's even a World Heritage Site! There's so much to explore and learn there, and some of our teachers will be guiding us.
I want to invite you to join us on this adventure. It would be wonderful to have you with us. Don't miss out on this amazing trip. That's all for now. Have a fantastic day, and I'll be waiting for your reply.
Warm regards,
Meena"
