Independence Day / 26 March | Paragraph

Freedom Day

Bangladesh is a country that is free. The 26th of March is our Freedom Day because on this day in 1971, we announced that we were independent. The fight for freedom started on the 26th of March in 1971. In the middle of the night on March 25, 1971, the Pakistani army attacked and killed innocent people. On the night of the 26th of March, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was taken by force and sent to Pakistan. Just before he was taken, he said that Bangladesh was now its own country. Since that time, we celebrate this day every year with a lot of happiness and fun with colorful celebrations. We mark this day with talking, getting together, meetings, and military parades. This day is a day off from work or school. Our special country flag is put up on every private and public house, and also on offices, schools, colleges, and universities. We put wreaths at the victory monument. Government buildings and offices look nice with decorations on this day. Many shows about our culture and festivals happen all over the country. People from all parts of life go to these shows with a lot of happiness. Bangladesh makes us proud. Our freedom day is our biggest accomplishment as a country.
