letter to editor on the price rising of essential things
Subject: Concerns about Rising Prices of Everyday Necessities
Dear Editor,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to bring attention to a pressing issue through the pages of your esteemed newspaper – the soaring prices of essential items. The consistent increase in the cost of things we rely on daily is causing significant distress, particularly for the middle-class population. People are grappling to manage their expenses as prices for items such as rice, vegetables, fish, oil, biscuits, and even toothpaste are escalating almost every week. This hike in prices is affecting not only everyday comforts but also basic medicines that people rely on for their well-being.
Furthermore, even items as essential as kerosene are becoming increasingly scarce in urban areas. The government, unfortunately, appears to be inactive in the face of these challenges. While dishonest traders share a portion of the blame for price hikes, the government's lack of legal action against them is also concerning.
It is high time the government intervenes and implements measures to ensure essential goods are accessible at fair prices through a public distribution system. This step would greatly alleviate the burdens faced by the general public.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Warm regards,
S. Nandy
