Letter to Your Friend Describing a Marriage Ceremony You Attended Recently

Dear Mousumi,

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share a recent experience with you. A few days ago, I got to enjoy a wonderful celebration for a neighbor's daughter's wedding. The festivities were quite enjoyable.

The groom's party arrived at the bride's house around 7:45 pm. However, when they reached the gate, a group of young boys and girls stood in the way and didn't let them in. Eventually, they were convinced with sweets and small gifts to let the groom's party inside. Once everyone was settled, the groom got a special seat.

A bit later, they served sweet sherbet to the guests, and then the marriage ceremony began. There were some disagreements between the two families about the marriage terms, but thankfully, they were resolved with the help of the matchmaker. The ceremony included verses from the Holy Quran read by a Quazi, and the marriage was officially solemnized.

After that, the groom thanked the guests and his new relatives. It was a heartwarming moment. Following the ceremony, we all enjoyed a delicious dinner. Around 10 pm, there was a ceremony called "ruyyat," and after that, the groom and his new bride left the house together.

I was really happy to attend this event. It was a great chance to meet many people and have a pleasant evening. That's all for now.

Take care and talk to you soon.

Warm regards,
Rani
