Never tell a lie
Always be truthful
When Hazrat Abdul Quadir Zilani was a young boy, he went to Bagdad for his education. Before he left home, his mother gave him some important advice: she told him to always tell the truth and to stay brave when facing danger. Bagdad was quite far from his home. He started his journey with a group of merchants. The path they were traveling on was dangerous because there were robbers around.
After traveling for five days, a group of robbers attacked them. One of the robbers grabbed the boy. The leader of the robbers saw this and decided to let the boy go since he didn't seem to have anything valuable. However, the boy spoke up and said, "No, you're mistaken. I actually have forty gold coins stitched into my sleeves." The leader was surprised and asked why the boy had revealed this information. The boy explained that his mother had told him never to tell lies, and he couldn't go against her words. Hearing this, something changed in the gang leader. He and his gang decided to give up their life of robbery and started living honestly and morally.
