Long ago, in a forest, there lived a rabbit. This rabbit always thought he was very fast. A tortoise also lived there. The rabbit often made fun of the tortoise because it was slow. One day, the rabbit asked the tortoise to have a race with him. The tortoise said yes. The next day, they began the race. They started running from a certain spot. The rabbit ran ahead for a while. Soon, he was far in front of the tortoise. He saw that the tortoise was far behind. The rabbit thought, "I can take a short nap and then easily beat the turtle." So he sat down under a tree and fell asleep. Meanwhile, the tortoise was walking slowly and steadily. It didn't stop anywhere on the way. After a while, the rabbit woke up. He saw that the tortoise was close to the finish line. The rabbit rushed, but the tortoise reached the finish line first. The rabbit felt very embarrassed about losing. After that, the rabbit always reminded himself, "Don't be proud of being fast, because being slow and steady can win the race." He never made fun of the tortoise again.
