The different kinds of words are called Parts of Speech.
বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীর শব্দগুলিকে Parts of Speech বলে।

Words are divided into different kinds or classes, called Parts of Speech according to their uses; that is, according to the work they do in the sentence.
বাক্যে ব্যবহার অনুযায়ী বিভিন্ন শ্রেণীর শব্দগুলিকে Parts of Speech বলে।

Parts of Speech কে প্রধানত আট ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়েছে। যথা:
01. Noun (বিশেষ্য): Mahbub, Dhaka.
02. Pronoun (সর্বনাম): He, She, They, It.
03. Adjective (বিশেষণ): Good, Famous, Ugly, Six.
04. Verb (ক্রিয়া): Go, Eat, Fight, Learn.
05. Adverb (ক্রিয়া বিশেষণ): Fast, Well, Slowly, Quickly.
06. Preposition (পদাশয়ী অব্যয়): For, On, Over, But.
07. Conjunction (সমুচ্চয়ী অব্যয়) Because, Till, Until, After.
08. Interjection (ভাব সূচক অব্যয়): Hurrah!, Bravo! Well done! Ah!.
সহজ সংজ্ঞা
Noun: আমাদের আশেপাশে যা কিছু দেখতে পাই বা ধরতে পারি এমন সবকিছুই Noun। তবে দেখা যায় না এমন অনেক Noun আছে যা চেনার জন্য পরবর্তীতে আলোচনা করবো। যেমনঃ chair, table, white-board, duster, light etc.
Pronoun: noun এর পরিবর্তে যেটি বসে সেটি-ই হল pronoun।
যেমনঃ he, she, it, they, we, etc.
যেমনঃ good, bad, nice, beautiful, brilliant etc.
Verb: verb, কোন কিছুর কাজ সম্পাদন করা বুঝায়। চলমান সবকিছুই verb.
যেমনঃ read, write, sleep, walk, singing, Playing etc.
Adverb: adverb, verb অথবা adjective কে নির্দেশ করে।
যেমনঃ slowly, fast, very, nicely etc.
Ex: The book is very interesting. He walks fast.
Preposition: pre মানে পূর্বে এবং position মানে অবস্থান। অর্থাৎ, preposition noun বা pronoun এর পূর্বে অবস্থান করে।
যেমনঃ in, on, at, to, of etc.
Conjunction: conjunction, দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দ বা বাক্যের মধ্যে এটি সংযোগ ঘটায়। যেমনঃ and, but, or, though, since, as, because etc.
Ex: Saki and Rafi are two brothers. He is poor but he is honest.
Interjection: interjection, সুখ, দুঃখ, আনন্দ, বেদনা বা আশ্চার্য্য প্রকাশ করে।
যেমনঃ Oh! Ah! Hurrah! Alas! Well done! etc.
চেনার উপায়
Noun: ion, nce, ness, ty, cy, ment, hood, ship, dom, ism, th, মানুষের নাম, পদ, উপাধি ও জায়গার নাম এবং to be verb ছাড়া ing যুক্ত verbPronoun: I, we, you, he, she, they, it etc.
Adjective: ic, ive, ous, less, ful, al, ble, to be verb ছাড়া pp, সকল সংখ্যা, রং এবং degree.
ব্যতিক্রম Adjective: amazing, interesting, charming, exciting, lovely, homely, friendly, lonely, costly etc.
Adverb: ly যুক্ত শব্দ। তাছাড়া very, fast, too, more, always, sometimes, ever, never, not, today, tomorrow, yesterday, very well, quite, often, only, seldom, still, again, yet, anyway, back, almost, afterward, already, even, far, next, now, rather, so, soon, then এই সবগুলা শব্দ adverb.
Preposition: at, in, into, to, up, upon, on, by, for, from, of, off, with, without, within, after, before, along, among, between, about, beside, besides, against, over, above, under, down, below, behind, across, via etc.
Note: সকল preposition এর পরে verb বসলে gerund হয়। শুধুমাত্র to এর পরে verb এর base form বসে।
Conjunction: and, but, or, since, as, because, though, although, if, unless, till, until, while, as if, as though, so, therefore, as soon as, so that, so…that, either…or, neither…nor, hardly/scarcely had…when, not only…but also, no sooner had…than, both…and, lest…should etc.
Interjection: যে সকল শব্দের পরে (!) চিহ্ন বসে।
