Cultural Assault

Culture is like a reflection of a country or society. It's about how people think, act, and what's normal in that place. If we look at a state's culture, we can understand it better. Every country has its own unique culture, but with globalization, this uniqueness is fading. Developing countries are losing their own cultures in the face of developed countries, leading to what's called cultural assault.

"Cultural assault" means when a country's culture is influenced or taken over by another. Nowadays, almost no country has its own distinct culture. Cultures are blending together due to satellite TV and the internet. Satellite technology allows people in developing countries to see what's happening worldwide, including other countries' cultures, art, and music. There are many educational programs on channels like BBC, CNN, National Geography, and Discovery.

However, this open sky culture also has negative aspects. Some programs don't match our country's norms and can be harmful, especially for young people. It can make them prefer foreign cultures over their own, which is bad for our culture.

Developing countries struggle to promote their own cultures internationally. Foreign channels with impressive content easily attract young people, who may start to imitate foreign ways of living. They might even lose their language, literature, and traditions. This situation lets rich countries control poor countries through their media influence.

To keep up with other countries, we need to embrace capitalism and globalization. But we must also protect our culture from the influence of foreign media. Banning foreign channels won't work; instead, we should strengthen our culture's foundation. By producing high-quality programs, relevant to our time, we can fight against the invasion of foreign culture. We must work hard to preserve our culture and prevent it from disappearing.
