Composition | A Cricket Match I witnessed
Cricket is a really fun game that is played outdoors. I love playing cricket, and I'm a part of my school's team. I also enjoy watching exciting matches. The other day, I went to see a great match between India and Bangladesh.
It was a nice day, and a lot of people had gathered at the National Stadium to watch the cricket match. The captain of the Bangladesh team won the coin toss and chose to bat first, so the Indian team took their positions on the field.
The first two batsmen from Bangladesh were skilled players. One of them was a strong hitter and hit the ball all around the field whenever he had the chance. The other player was more careful and mostly blocked the ball without trying to score runs. The bowling from the Indian team was strong, and the player who played a steady game couldn't score a single run for the first fifteen minutes. However, the other batsman quickly accumulated runs. But his luck soon ran out, as he was caught out at mid-off.
The next four players from Bangladesh were dismissed rapidly: two were bowled out, one was caught out, and one was out leg-before wicket. We all thought that the Bangladesh team would soon be all out. The score was at fifty. However, the captain of Bangladesh made a stand and, with the help of the steady player who kept blocking, managed to raise the score to a hundred. The captain played very cautiously, but before he could score more runs, he was run out. The entire team was out for 150 runs.
We thought that the Bangladesh team would lose the match, but the Indian team didn't have an easy time as we expected. The Bangladesh team had two excellent bowlers: one was very fast, and the other was a spinner. They gave the Indian team a tough challenge.
The Indian team didn't start well. They lost their first wicket after only ten minutes when the score was just ten. However, their captain encouraged them and made a great contribution before getting caught out at 70. After that, their wickets started falling quickly. It seemed like the Indian team would be defeated. But when their ninth and tenth players came to bat, their hopes revived. They hit the ball well and one of them even reached a hundred. Finally, a good catch sent one of the fast-scoring players off the field. But the last man was a brave batsman whose two hits received applause from the crowd. They only needed thirteen runs to win the match. They fought hard for runs, and the Indian team celebrated with joy when the score reached 115. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on their side, as the player was clean bowled by a slow ball when he tried to hit a six. The Indian team lost the match by just five runs.
Since it was agreed to be a one-innings match, this meant victory for the Bangladesh team. Even though the Indian team lost, they showcased some excellent cricket skills.
