A.K. Fazlul Haque was born into a respected family in Barisal. His father's name was Muhammad Wajed Ali, who was a well-known lawyer. A.K. Fazlul Haque learned Arabic and Persian languages at home. He completed his secondary education with distinction when he was just fourteen years old. In 1893, he passed the B.A. Examination, and later obtained his M.A. degrees from Calcutta University.

Initially, A.K. Fazlul Haque took up the position of Deputy Magistrate, but he was not satisfied with this job. He became concerned about the conditions faced by farmers and poor people, and he wanted to improve their lives. This led him to enter politics.

A.K. Fazlul Haque had a successful political career. He served as the Chief Minister of Bengal from 1937 to 1941. In 1935, he became the first Muslim Mayor of Calcutta City Corporation. He held important positions such as Advocate General, Chief Minister, and Governor of East Bengal. In 1931, he attended the Round Table Conference in London. In summary, A.K. Fazlul Haque was a prominent figure in the political landscape of the subcontinent. He established the Debt Settlement Board, which protected poor peasants from the harshness of creditors. He also founded Calcutta Islamia College and several other educational institutions.

A.K. Fazlul Haque accomplished many things for the people of this country. Although he passed away on April 27, 1962, his legacy lives on through his works and achievements.
