Composition | A Public Lecture I Attend

The newspapers recently announced that Mr. A would give a lecture at the Civic Centre Hall on January 20th at 6 PM. Since I had never heard this great speaker before, I decided not to miss this opportunity. I arrived an hour early hoping to get a good seat, but I was surprised to see that the hall was packed with people. Some sat in the gallery, while a few sat on chairs on the stage. These were important and influential people in our society.

About five minutes before six, the event organizer asked everyone to be quiet. Mr. L was chosen to preside over the meeting and received a warm welcome as he took his seat. The function began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. Mr. L introduced the speaker, saying that Mr. A is well-known and doesn't need an introduction from him. He praised him as a great speaker and a true patriot. We were all eager to hear him speak. Then, he invited the speaker to address the gathering.

When Mr. A stood up to speak, complete silence fell over the audience. He announced that the topic of his speech would be the unity of the Muslim World. This grabbed everyone's attention. During his speech, he discussed the reasons for the decline of Muslims worldwide. He emphasized the importance of love, tolerance, and respect among Muslims. He urged us to act and behave like true Muslims, and he called upon us to set aside our differences and unite against our common enemy. Throughout history, Muslims who followed the teachings of Islam remained strong. The remedy to our problems lies in the Holy Quran, but unfortunately, we have neglected it. Our departure from moral and spiritual values has led to disastrous consequences. Mr. A strongly criticized the superpowers for their policies against Muslims, citing the example of the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. He also expressed skepticism towards the Americans, considering them unfriendly to Muslims. He stressed the need for Muslims to strengthen themselves and unite. Unity is crucial in these times, and if we fight amongst ourselves, we will suffer. When Mr. A concluded his speech, the audience erupted in thunderous applause.

Next, the President of the meeting took the stage to speak. He praised the speaker and commended his bravery and abilities. When the President finished, the Secretary came forward and proposed a vote of thanks to both the chair and the speaker. With that, the meeting came to a close.
