Story | A Strange Man In The Lift

Monika was heading to the basement cafe hotel to grab some breakfast. She hadn't eaten a proper dinner. She entered the elevator and pressed the button that said B1. On the 5th floor, a stranger joined her. He was really big, weighing around 200 pounds and standing over six feet tall. He looked like a giant. Monika felt scared and her heart sank. She hoped he would get off soon. But to her surprise, the man also pressed the B1 button. Monika glanced at the giant with despair. Even though the air conditioner was on in the elevator, she started sweating and felt weak in the knees. Suddenly, the giant man looked at her and started a conversation. His voice was so kind that Monika's thoughts changed in just a few moments. He introduced himself to her in a very gentle manner. She noticed a childlike innocence on his face. In that moment, her fear subsided. When they reached the basement floor, they sat together at a table and had breakfast.
