Some shopkeepers, like grocers, tailors, cloth dealers, stationers, and tea-sellers, have permanent shops. The market is divided into different sections like the fish market, vegetable market, rice market, fruit market, etc. The fish and vegetable markets are usually the busiest places in the market. Bargaining is common in a village market. People rarely buy anything without negotiating the price.
The village market is very useful and important for the villagers. They can find everything they need for daily life without having to travel long distances.
Besides its practical purpose, the village market also has social value. It brings people from different villages together and strengthens their unity. It's an important place for village politics and also serves as entertainment for the villagers. Some people come to the market just to spend time and enjoy themselves.
The village market is not a healthy place. It's dusty in the dry season and muddy in the rainy season. There is no proper system for disposing of garbage and other waste, and sanitation is lacking.
