Composition | Patriotism
Patriotism means loving your own country. It's something that comes naturally to all living beings, even animals have some kind of love for their homes. But this feeling is strongest in humans.
If we look at history, we can find many patriots who suffered a lot and even gave up their lives to fight for their country's freedom. For example, Chand Sultana of Ahmadnagar fought against the Mughal Emperor, Akbar, and sacrificed her life for her domain's freedom. Joan of Arc from France died defending her homeland. Nawab Salimullah, Maulana Muhammad Ali, Maulana Showkat Ali, Shahid Titu Mir, A.K. Fazlul Hoque, Banga Bandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President Ziaur Rahman, and many others have become immortalized as true patriots for their selfless sacrifices. Their names are written in history as heroes.
True patriotism is not very common. Loving your country is not enough if it doesn't translate into action. It's our duty not only to love our country but also to do something to make it better. We may feel sad and upset when we see our country facing difficulties and not living up to its ideals. But many of us don't bother to address the social problems. We need dedicated individuals who are willing to sacrifice their comfort, happiness, and even their lives for the sake of their country.
A true patriot always longs for their homeland, even if they live in a wealthy foreign land. They live and die for their country, putting its interests above their own. They are highly regarded for their selfless actions and open-mindedness. They are willing to give up their lives to uphold their country's reputation. A true patriot constantly thinks about the well-being of their country and fellow citizens. They are honored and respected both at home and abroad. Their actions inspire others to embrace patriotism. In Islam, it is said that "patriotism is a part of religion."
Not everyone can be an active patriot, but everyone should have love for their land. This doesn't mean hating other countries. A true patriot is not a fanatic.
