Story | Prosperity Gains Friends While Adversity Tries

Once upon a time, there was a wealthy businessman in a large city. He had many friends who would often visit him. These friends would say many nice things about him. The businessman would throw parties for them and treat them kindly. The number of his friends kept growing. One day, something unfortunate happened. The businessman's two ships sank in the sea. These ships were carrying the goods he planned to trade. Now, he didn't have enough things in his shops to sell. He needed money to buy more goods. So, he went to his rich friends to ask for a loan. However, each one of them refused to lend him any money. They didn't even want to talk to him anymore. Most of them instructed their servants to say they were not at home when he came. Finally, he realized that these people were only his friends as long as he had a lot of money. The story teaches us that when we are prosperous, we gain many friends, but when we face difficulties or become poor, our true friends are tested.
