Composition | The Dhaka City

Dhaka is a very important city. It is the capital city of Bangladesh. The place where I live is Dhaka.

Dhaka sits on the side of the Buriganga River. It is around ten miles long and three miles wide. The population of this city is about ten million people. Dhaka has two parts—the old town and the new town. The streets and houses in the new town are bigger and more beautiful than those in the old town.

Islam Khan founded Dhaka during the time of Emperor Jahangir's rule. At that time, it was the capital of Bengal. That's why it's also called Jahangirnagar.

Dhaka is a city with lots of buildings and mosques. There are many buildings, mosques, temples, and churches in this city. The Lalbagh Fort reminds us of Dhaka's glorious past. Apart from that, places like Bangabhaban, High Court, Supreme Court, Salimullah Muslim Hall, Baitul Mukarram, the Zoo in Mirpur, Children's Park, Ganabhaban, Parliament Building, General Post Office, Bangladesh Secretariat, and Dhaka Railway Station are worth visiting.

Dhaka is connected to all the district towns of the country by train, bus, and boat. It also has air connections with some important towns in the country and the world.

Dhaka is the biggest education center in Bangladesh. The University of Dhaka, Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka Medical College, Engineering University, Technical College, Jagannath University, Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Islamia Government College, and many government and private schools and colleges provide education to thousands of students.

Trade and commercial institutions are located in Tongi, Tejgaon, and Mirpur, and there are some small-scale industries in the city.

Dhaka is an old and densely populated city. It is well-known for its cultural activities. Nowadays, it is one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The authorities should take proper measures to improve the city's current condition.
