Story | The Foolish Guard

Once upon a time, there was a king who had a monkey as his friend and pet. The king really loved the monkey and took good care of him. He would give the monkey fresh fruits from the special fruit orchards and even dress him up nicely. The king trusted the monkey a lot.

One day, the king had an idea. He wanted to keep the monkey as his personal guard so that he could be with him all the time. The king started taking the monkey everywhere he went, whether it was to the battlefield or the court. The monkey was very happy and proud to be chosen as the king's personal guard. He decided to do his duty with complete dedication.

The king always kept the monkey with him. When the king slept, the monkey would guard his bedroom. He made sure that nobody disturbed the king while he slept and even fanned the king to keep him comfortable.

Now, you know that the king's bedroom was decorated with beautiful flowers and smelled really nice because of the perfumes. One day, while the king was taking a nap in the afternoon, a bee flew into the room through an open window. The monkey saw the bee and tried to chase it away using his fan. But the bee didn't leave and kept buzzing around the king's face. The monkey got angry because his efforts didn't work.

Finally, the bee landed on the king's forehead. The monkey was so angry and determined to protect the king that he took the king's sword, which was on the table, and hit the bee on the forehead. Unfortunately, the sword hit the king's head instead and caused a serious injury. The king died because of the monkey's mistake.

The moral of the story is that we should not make friends with foolish people.
