Story | The Fox And The Goat

Once upon a time, there was a fox who accidentally fell into a well. He couldn't figure out how to get out because even though the well was not very deep, it still posed a challenge for him. Luckily, a goat happened to pass by and noticed the fox in the well. The goat was surprised to see the fox there and asked, "Hey, what are you doing in there?" The fox, thinking quickly, replied, "Oh dear, the water in this well is incredibly sweet. I come here every day to drink it. Why don't you come down and have a taste?" The goat, being naive, didn't stop to think and immediately jumped into the well.

As soon as the goat jumped in, the cunning fox used her back as a stepping stone and quickly leaped out of the well. Now the goat realized her foolishness and pleaded with the fox to help her get out. But the fox, mocking her, asked, "Why did you jump into the well if you couldn't get out? Now you can cry for help while enjoying the sweet water. Your master will come to rescue you eventually. Goodbye!" With these words, the fox ran into the jungle, leaving the goat in distress.

The moral of the story is: (i) Acting hastily can lead to wasteful outcomes. (ii) It is important to think before taking action, just like the saying goes, "Look before you leap."
