Story | The Jay And The Peacocks

Once upon a time, there was a bird called a jay. One day, this jay went into a yard where peacocks were walking around. In that yard, the jay discovered some beautiful peacock feathers lying on the ground. The jay thought to himself that he would look really nice if he tied those feathers to his own body. So, he attached all the feathers to his tail and flew over to where the peacocks were happily dancing.

When the peacocks saw what the jay had done, they became angry and called him a cheater. They decided to teach him a lesson. They pecked at him and took away his feathers. The jay felt ashamed of what he had done. Other birds were also watching and laughing at him. Feeling embarrassed, the jay returned to the other jays, who were very upset with him for his foolish behavior. They told him that he had brought shame to all the other jays and advised him, "Just by having pretty feathers, you can't become a great bird."
