Composition | The Magpie/ The Doel
In our country, we have many different types of birds that fly from one tree to another. The joyful sound of their chirping fills our minds with pleasure. One of these birds is the Doel, which is our national bird. The Doel is a small bird that always raises its tail. Its tail has long white spots, and it also has a wreath around its neck. People really like this bird. Some Doels have long white and black spots under their chest. Their bodies are covered with soft feathers. The male Doel has a shiny appearance and brown legs with nails on top.
The Doels eat various kinds of worms and insects. They also feed on pulses, mustard, lentils, and sesame. They live in tree holes and bushes. In the winter mornings, they hop and chirp around guava trees, lemon trees, and bean pools to find worms and insects. During summer, they lay blue eggs in nests they make in tree holes.
The Doel has a unique and melodious voice, and it can imitate other birds. It is a clean and tidy bird. It can be found all over Bangladesh, which is why it has been chosen as our national bird. The Doel does not harm us but instead helps by eating various worms and insects. Its sweet chirping adds to the beauty of our nation. Unfortunately, some cruel people catch Doels and sell them for money.
In conclusion, even though the Doel is a small bird, it holds great value. Therefore, we should show kindness towards it. The government should pass laws to prohibit the capture of Doels.
