Story | The Proud Lady And The Caterpillar

Once there was a young lady who had a really nice garden. She took very good care of it. One day, as she was walking around her beautiful garden and enjoying the pretty flowers, she noticed the trees were full of delicious fruits. She was so happy that she clapped her hands with joy.

Suddenly, the lady noticed a caterpillar on her dress. She was really scared and shocked. She quickly shook the caterpillar off her dress and angrily said, "Go away, you ugly caterpillar! You eat all the leaves, flowers, and fruits, and you ruin my lovely garden. I work so hard to keep my garden beautiful, and you're making it messy just by being here."

The caterpillar looked at her calmly and said, "Proud lady, I may not look nice right now, but soon I will transform into a beautiful butterfly. The lovely silk of your dress comes from insects like me, so please don't insult me."

"You will be jealous of me when I become a butterfly! I will be more colorful and beautiful than you," the caterpillar added.

Then the caterpillar continued, "We are very confused by you. Your beauty is only temporary. Without your clothes, you look like a caterpillar. You only become a butterfly when you wear colorful clothes."

Moral: True beauty does not lie in clothes!
