Midas the Greedy King and His Daughter

A long time ago, there lived a king in his own kingdom. This king was called Midas, and he had a big problem. He always wanted more and more gold, even though he already had a lot of it.

One day, he called his magic expert to help him find a special trick. He told the magic person, "I want something special that nobody else has. I want the power to turn things into gold."

The magic person said, "Sure, King! I can give you that power. Whenever you touch something, it will become shiny gold." King Midas was so happy to hear this. He started touching everything around him, and it all turned into gold. Trees, grass, tables, chairs, flowers, and vases—all gold now. He thought he must be the richest person ever.

But when it was time for dinner, things went wrong. As soon as he touched his food, it became gold and he couldn't eat it. He went to bed with an empty stomach. Still, King Midas didn't feel too sad because he was very greedy.

The next morning, his daughter came running to give him a hug. Sadly, the moment she kissed him, she turned into a gold statue! King Midas loved his daughter a lot and this made him very sad. He rushed to the magic person for help.

He said, "Please, magic person! I don't want to be rich anymore. I just want my dear daughter back." The magic person used their magic to undo everything.

After this experience, King Midas learned an important lesson. He understood that being too greedy can cause a lot of trouble. From that day on, he was never greedy again.

Moral of the story: Greediness can lead to bad things happening.
