Composition A Visit to A Place of Historical Interest

In Bangladesh, there are many places with historical importance. Visiting these places is very meaningful for learning. After our first exams, I and some friends went to see Mahasthangarh.

On the set day, we began our journey to Mahasthangarh. We took a bus to Bogra and stayed there overnight. The next day, after breakfast, we went to Mahasthangarh, which is just a few kilometers from Bogra town. We used a rickshaw to get there. When we arrived, we saw a fascinating part of ancient history.

Long ago, Mahasthangarh was called Pundranagar and served as the capital for many Hindu kings. The old city was large, about 2000 meters long and 1500 meters wide, with a surrounding wall. It was once a prosperous city.

Mahasthangarh stands by the river Korotoa's western bank. There are some raised places nearby with different names. One dried-up part of the river is called the "Ghat of Kankabati." At Mahasthangarh, there's a museum where they keep some images, ornaments, and pots that were excavated from the site. We saw all these ancient relics and learned a lot about our past heritage.

We spent the entire day at Mahasthangarh and returned to Bogra in the evening. We had a great time and gained a lot of knowledge and experience. I will always remember that day.
