Pahela Boishakh

Pahela Boishakh is the first day of the Bangla new year. We celebrate this day every year. It's important for us because it's part of our Bangalee culture and tradition. It's a special festival in our country that happens every year. On this day, people wear traditional clothes. Women wear white sarees with colorful bangles and flowers, and men wear loose pants and long shirts. People also eat traditional food like soaked rice with spices on this day. The day begins with a morning gathering and various cultural activities. People wake up early in the morning because it's a public holiday. There's a fair called "Baishakhi Mela" in the village, and traders open their new accounts. This day is really significant for our country. Different cultural organizations like Bangla Academy, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, and Bangladesh National Museum organize cultural programs. Newspapers have special sections for this day, and there are special programs on the radio and TV. The whole country celebrates Pahela Boishakh, and it brings everyone together to celebrate our culture.
