Composition | Environment Pollution
Nowadays, pollution in the environment is a very popular topic around the world. Our environment is getting dirty in two ways – through air pollution and water pollution. Air gets dirty in many ways. When people make fires to cook their food, make bricks, or melt pitch for building roads, it produces a lot of smoke that makes the air dirty. Trains, factories, power plants, and mills use coal, oil, petrol, and diesel, which also contribute to air pollution. Water gets dirty in many ways too. Farmers use chemicals like fertilizers and insecticides on their lands to grow more food, but when it rains or floods, these chemicals get washed away and mix with canal and river water. Mills and factories also pollute water by throwing waste materials and unsold products into rivers and canals. Even boats like steamers, launches, and sailboats pollute water by throwing oil, food waste, and human waste into rivers and canals. In rural areas, unclean toilets near rivers and canals also make the water dirty. So you see, both air and water are getting polluted, and as a result, our environment is also getting dirty. We can prevent water pollution in several ways. First, we need to make people understand that water is as important as air and that it is essential for life. So, we should not allow chemical fertilizers and pesticides to mix with river, canal, or pond water. Mills and factories should not throw waste materials and unsold products into rivers and canals. Boats like steamers, motor launches, and sailboats should not throw oil, food waste, or human waste into rivers and canals either. In conclusion, raising awareness and taking necessary measures are important in preventing water pollution and creating public awareness.
